Its funny how his fanboys are coming out ... wait till they crawl back once Jadeja kicks Indian team single-handedly out yet again from an ICC trophy... I remember this was the same case before 2011 WC as well where he would perform average in 1 in 15 matches and his fan boys would be out with their lolipops and then running back to their holes with tails up after his regular pathetic performances... I remember Dhoni used to praise him even then and I was bit worried about Jadeja getting selected in Indian WC squad..luckily the sanity prevailed and he was kicked out and India won the WCUP..

We can't have him at No.6 or No.7. He's doing well in ODI cricket right now but there are better candidates for a Test spot than him ... We can't compete with Australia if we're putting up scores around 250. We need to pick a specialist batsman at No.6. My pick would be Rohit Sharma.

Jadeja will be there in the test squad. Some stupidies never change Indian cricket and this is one. He would play atleast the 1st 2 tests and Rahane and all other proper batsmen and bowlers would watch from the sidelines.

I think in Indian condition Jadeja can out bowl both Ohha and Ashwin, more accurate and when ball start turning he is accuracy will all come handy with turning ball. He outbowled OJha and Ashwin Nagpur test too. So to me, people are bit unfair assessing him as a spinner specially on Indian pitches.

I highly doubt it...Whether Ojha/Ashwin can do the same is a moot point, Currently for the first /second innings Ojha > Ashwin > Jadeja

He can also do a holding job. My point is, he played one test on a dead track where there was nothing for anyone, he outbowled both the two premier bowlers that is why it is not fair to rule him out without giving enough chances though I do he should not be batting at 6.

The number 6 spot should go to a specialist batsman. Rohit, Badrinath, Tiwary, Rahane ... all much better options than Jadeja. If they pick Sehwag, which they most likely will I think he can be useful enough as the 5th bowler option. Kohli can bowl a few overs if need be too.

i think number 6 should go to some gritty cricketer like tiwary or rayadu guys like rohit, rahane are more suited to middle order rohit number 5,rahane in top 3 if he ever plays

Yeah thats a fair point. The number 6 needs to be someone that can bat with the tail. I think Badrinath should also be considered for the number 6 spot. He's 32 and has never been given a decent run in Tests or ODIs so if they are going to try him, it needs to be now. His record in first-class cricket has earnt him the right to a decent Test run.

Yes. Jaddu is not a #6 batsman.

Yep same. I haven't watched any of his matches lately but he's 32 so he's not too old. If he does well he should have about 3-4 good years in him, during which we will have a number of important series. He's deserved a chance of the back of the mountain of runs he's scored in Ranji Trophy. He's also a good fielder so he's not going to be a liability in the field.

He has never looked comfortable against good quality pace bowling. One of those batsmen who does well in FC on flat, slow wickets like Chennai but will struggle in international cricket.

In India, we have a tendency to find the next superstar/Tendulkar instead of trying to address the current problem of a stable #6 batsmen... Simply play the best man Example being Rohit Sharma who has been given umpteen chances to fail, expecting he will become our next 10000 run batsman..

Hussey is kind of exception but most teams start to ignore player after age of 32
