King Tendulkar
What about Tiwary or Bist? Its been unfair towards both tbh Well pick them on A tour as well then. Play them. Like I said winner takes all:--D Link to comment
G_B_
we are not playing any international cricket during this tour right? we should play Pujara Link to comment
FischerTal
Bist is technical better than all these 4 guys. plus he is 25. perfect age to get him in. good FC average too Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Pujara should not be on this tour. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Pujara , Kohli etc etc should not be on A tour. If BCCI organise themselves properly. Then we should arrive 1 month before 1st test and play 4 warm up games. Thats how establised stars should prepare, not going on A tours. A tours are for fringe players who need experince and have something to prove. Trial for fringe players Link to comment

Sooda
^ Thats right yes because the BCCI are idiots and have learnt nothing from the fiasco in England, still giving our players no time to get used to the conditions at all Link to comment
deathmonger
but i do believe we are playing Australia in some odis then (just before the SA tour) ODIs are in October. Tests start mid Nov. Ppl in test squad (but not ODIs) should be sent early. Heck even send some ODI regulars (like last SA tour when we experimented with a new team just before NZ tear consisting of debutants). Can give Chand, Mandeep, some other IPL heroes a shot. Link to comment
philcric
2 tour games before the 1st test and 1 more after 2nd test should be a norm for all high profile series of 4 or more tests. Link to comment
Sooda
^ 2 three days games AT LEAST. Yes. 3 three day games maybe ideal ... it would staying there for a long time though Link to comment

Speaking of tight schedules. SA are playing Pakistan in the UAE just before they play India at home. I think even their players will be potentially extremely tired after a grueling tour. India appear to have two weeks in early November before the tests start. They will probably schedule two warm ups in those weeks. Link to comment

Yes. 3 three day games maybe ideal ... it would staying there for a long time though Come a month in advance and do 3 3-day/4-day games. ODI team for Oz should be a rookie one with only some of the members of the main test side - Mostly the ones who will prolly not start (Rahane,GG,Jadeja etc) Link to comment

Also like you said SRT Vijay Pujara Umesh etc can anyway go in mid Oct. Link to comment

saneindian
They could have had a two week or so camp at home instead of those ODIs lol you mean we should have had no home season at all? Would be great if the BCCI converts the bi lateral series into a tri series..7 ODIs against the same opposition will get monotonous but then we haven't exactly beaten the Aussies in a home ODI series for a long long time. Looking at the schedule CLT20 is likely to start around 15th Sept and adding 3 weeks will end around 1st week of Oct. Similarly the ODIs vs Aus could start by around 15th Oct and end in another 3 weeks, say Nov 1st week. The SA Tour would probably start a week after the Aus ODIs end, say around 15th Nov . If the tours get scheduled as above, we should target to be in SA by 5th Nov, add another couple of practice matches there. If it means a weakened ODI squad facing Aus in the last few ODIs, so be it.
