No tactics is important and captaincy in shorter formats isn't overrated . Picking Ashwin was a mistake. Not picking our best bowler Shami was a mistake. Bowling Ashwin and Jadeja for a combined 18 overs for 140 was a mistake. Not bringing in Jadhav way early when he had 2 for 20 odd in last match was a mistake. Bowling Jadhav another of which cost 16 when Bumrah had one over left is a mistake. Bringing on Ashwin in power plays is a mistake. Again bringing on Ashwin when Fakhar was closing on 100 and helping reach 100 was a mistake. The bowling was poor but captaincy was a major factor behind it. velu 1

Also yes agree on picking Ashwin, infact you wanted your csk quota in the squad and in the game while i was asking him to be not even picked in this tournament. Yes because was selected in the squad and we needed another spinner against SA who just played Pakistan spinners horribly and aren't a sub continental team. And Ashwin came in and took the wkt of Amla.So? Did u even watch how Bangladeshi batsman treated him?

You are again making zero sense again. The point is Ashwin shouldnt have been picked for CT.But once picked it makes sense to use him depending on opponents.There is nothing wrong with that. Point is after his displays against Bangladesh display we should have brought in another spinner .Not even sure regardless of whatever my opinion is not sure how matter or change the fact that picking Ashwin was a poor decision.
