It is not by chance that Ind: a) is on its way to becoming the most populous nation b) has motorists that don't obey traffic laws c) has one of the highest levels of pollution. When caring for environment and preserving the planet for future gen should be a priority, they have taken a back seat d) is extremely dirty e) Etc The infamous "chalta hai" attitude has had such an adverse impact that many have started to believe that "one can do whatever one wishes" as if Ind is a hotel that they are living in. Many folks just don't care Discipline comes from pride. Pride comes from achievements and sacrifices. Achievements and sacrifices are reflected in the history. I see that today, many have no respect for the country's past Many say that Ind is not a nation but a population. If that is the case, stop pretending to be one Ind also reminds me of the poor family which stuck together during hard times. When the family got a little rich, each member started developing egos. Once the head of the family was gone, everyone went their own way ....
MechEng Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I remember reading accounts on India by Faxian, Ctesias, Pliny The Elder and Megasthenes, they literally saw the land beyond Indus as a land of utopia. Even Aristotle warned Alexander not to invade India and asked him to bring the soil of that land to him when he returns. Fast forward 2000 years, and today we see complete apathy on display when it comes to civic sense. I can assure you that even Mogadishu is much cleaner than Mumbai. The root of this apathy is a complex topic, some blame socialism but even the communist cities of Russia and Cuba are relatively cleaner.
