Trichromatic Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Suggestion. Create two threads. 1. Off-topic discussion thread. 2. Off-topic comment/spam thread. First thread will be used to remove some of the off-topic discussion from the other threads. If the discussion is long, then it can given a new thread. Otherwise mods can move all the off-topic discussion related posts to this thread. Second thread will be used for completely off-topic remarks which have no potential of further discussion. It may also include personal remarks. This will help mods to keep the other threads clean.

Sachinism Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Please enable visitor messaging on the forum. You mean non-registered people to post?
Yoda-esque Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 You mean non-registered people to post? Nopes..not a good idea
Trichromatic Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 You mean non-registered people to post? No. Visitor messages to the registered users. This is how user profile looks like in vBulletin 4 Other users can post visitor messages to profile of members. Users recieve notification about the new VM and they can see the message. On clicking "view conversation" they can check whole series of messages exchanged between them. Visitor messages are public and can be seen by anyone. It's analogous to posting on someone's wall. Difference is that others won't notice it unless they view the profile of the user. This feature is available by default in vBulletin 3.8 and above. I'm not sure about previous versions.
urbestfriend Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Is there any restriction on opening a bet thread by members? Why is my bet thread merged with match thread? Will you do the same in future too? Mods, please answer...

urbestfriend Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Send me a PM with the details and stop being so melodramatic I'm not complaining..Just want to know the forum rules, so asking some questions..I'm perfectly ok if mods have take a decision to not allow bet threads from general members..But i'd be certainly pissed if it is selective..

ganeshran Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 can all the Evil BCCI- Spineless ICC whinging threads be merged into one.
Trichromatic Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Well, the forum needs be organized little bit more. Mods can use various ideas from time to time for this purpose. First suggestion : For every series, create a thread for web articles for ex - [2011] Web articles - India tour of England. Put all the comments of Nasser, Botham and all those blokes in 1 thread. [2011] Miscellaneous web articles Second suggestion : A general player thread [2010- till date] Harbhajan Singh All the discussion related to his performance should be added there. For new players : R. Ashwin First post will have some details of the player and general discussion about his performance.

Moderators already have a lot on their plate. If you guys start a trend, it will catch on. We keep match threads dated, but other threads its not so easy with merges, etc.

But for ex - I want to see the threads organized like this. I haven't created any thread and can't do it straightaway. Once mods do this for 1 or threads, everyone will start following the trend. Later new trends will set by members only and not the mods.
