I voted for Dravid, but after seeing Pathan's innings on highlights, I think that he deserves another chance at the top of the order. He faced a very good spell of fast bowling by Mitchell Johnson, who got good swing and tremendous bounce.

First of all Aussies will follow on and then lose by an innings so there should not be any need for openers in 2nd innings Secondly if we still need a few runs- Bhajji should come in and finish the match

They are all just the same... Unless you get a specialist opener, these questions will keep coming. More importantly, the question is how effective our seamers are going to be ? If not then why the heck bother playing IP or IS. We should have kept with Jaff. He was just gaining his touch back. Imagine you bowl Kumble on the otherend to open with RP sing. Who have pressure??? Because Kumble can't open with bowling, same going for others... I think we got carried away by IP batting other day. He can bat but trouble is this pitch is not going to help him much. So why play him as a batsman and send him to open. Now that he is replacing Jaffy, he should conitnue to open. Who knows we may see a surprise 50+ in the 2nd innings..

I think Dada will not be a bad idea. He's played the pace attack with confidence this series and even through the prior series'. He's shown vulnerability against Hogg and hopefully if he sticks around till Hogg gets to bowl, Dada might have more confidence. RD is such a bad idea with him low on confidence, it's like placing a tied rabbit into the pot... He's bound to get cooked ;)

Varun/Mods - Can original poster get the option to edit the poll options at later time after creating the thread?
Hmm, I'll look into it. The thing is, currently the edit option also allows for editing of the poll numbers. So allowing a poster that facility could be problematic. So we need some edit mechanism that only allows editing options or adding new options. I'm not sure if we have such a mechanism right now. If it doesn't exist, then it'll take a little while for me to implement this.

How about creating a new thread with the new poll option and merging both the threads? Will that work?

Bump. We yet again made IKP open the Test batting and lost him early. He is good for 50+ runs at the lower order, but we keep sacrificing his wicket for nothing. He bowled many many overs and he would have been tired as well, to just send him to open!

Since One Days are coming....we need to open with Sachin & Sehwag as a practice innings.... BCCI would agree to that. Just tell them Test Cricket is Power plays of One Days.:D

Well Patahn got a duck today, and if I were Kumble, I would have solved the problem this way : 1. Lock Dravid up in the dressing room. 2. Send in Sehwag to open. 3. Ask Pathan to simply pad up, go to the dressing room and tell Dravid he got out first ball. 4. Dravid will walk out thinking he is # 3 we all win either way
