has this account been hacked??  You have written a positive, forward looking post!!! <JK> I agree with your post a 100% though..

Abe, when I feel like it, I can make astute observations too. I have been watching cricket since Gavaskar days, you were probably not born yet or in your nappies!! :giggle:

I was actually pleased to see Vijay leave outside the off stump today. We did not see this discipline earlier in the tour. Hopefully, he does not get out with soft dismissal tomorrow! This is why match preparation is SO important!!

We have the same six players this match.. What have we achieved?

We have achieved win in this test, most of them contributed to the win.

They are the main players

Still can't get this obsession with Pujara. This sense less, useless player need to be kicked out as early as possible.Just because he made a tortoise paced 50 in a win  does not hide his  much larger amounts of ineffectiveness in the other 2 matches that resulted in series loss. For me I would vastly prefer Vijay over Pujara.Vijay's track record in AUS and ENG  is really superb.

Pujara did well on last South African tour when we toured there for test matches, so we couldn’t have thrown him out just like that. Be practical, we want Rahane in the team because he was brilliant last time around. Thats the same reason we had Pujara as he played well last time too in South Africa.

He did not do as well on this tour is another thing. It wasn’t just him, pretty much everyone else failed too.

From here on his performance should be monitored but we can’t drop him. We do not have that luxury. To win overseas, we can’t be changing the core players too many times. We did that in first test by leaving out Rahane and that hurt us big time. Pujara is part of the core just like Rahane or Kohli, so he must continue for now.

After England tour, things can be reassesed about him.
