maniac Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Happens with most green tracks....will the decision to bat first look like a bad idea Good news is it might be overcast
Laaloo Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 The overcast conditions with the rain should keep our bowlers in the game and creating enough chances. We should do well if we keep things simple and try not to do too much. I know that's hard to expect from bowlers other than bhuvi but what can you do? maniac 1
zen Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 No harm in batting first if you can make the most of the opportunity .... the positive is that SA may crack if it chases in the 4th inning. "If" because, they may get 350+ and not be required to bat again I don't expect too much from the regular batsmen except from Pujara and Kohli. At this point, I have more faith in guys like Pandya who can be the difference b/w a decent score and a bad one .... And Ind could have followed on if SA batted first so

Shami Ishant and Bumrah can all blow hot and cold ...genius one moment and mediocre the very next...hope one of them find their moments of brilliance and run through the line ups...Bhuvi will be consistent that much assurance is there Edited January 24, 2018 by maniac

More like hope one of those Pandya knocks when he is in the Zone...otherwise seriously disappointed in his lack of cricket awareness

Relatively, they are experienced and may be smarter .... Pandya should get better too with more experience maniac 1
maniac Posted January 24, 2018 Author Posted January 24, 2018 Should start with Ishant who has a great track record on green mambas or Shami tommorow morning. Bumrah can be used to run through the tail.
BeautifulGame Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 My fear is De Villiers will just go crazy.Unless Bhuvi reins him in early he will get 60-70 within blink of an eye. Expect SA to score atleast 270.Probably will end up with 330-350. Let's not forget Wandeeres has a history of getting flattening out in the course of a test match.

Exactly...in fact the 2nd test pitch was more of a substandard quality pitch. This pitch I get the feel will flatten out,India will do well in the 3rd innings but get the feeling it will be too much to overcome. Just like the CT final decision this one seems like an emotional one too rather than a well thought out one....again can’t completely blame Kohli either if half the team got out to brainless shots.
Oldhere Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Its all about new ball and overhead conditions. we need to make full use of new ball ie first 20 overs and secondly hope that it remains cloudy as that might help in some seam/swing. Above all just hope that its our good day and we are able to tame ab, de kock and amla.
