16 str8
This game just reinforces Australia's dominance in world cricket. The Indian's were lucky enough to catch the Aussie's on an off day. The Australian top order showed a lack of respect and were far too careless, and the umpires killed off any chance of an Australian victory. But with all this in mind, the Indian's still only managed to limp over the line. That Indian innings highlighted everything that is wrong with sub continent cricket. While they would have liked to win, this loss will do far more for the Australian's than a win would have. They will no doubt respond strongly from this loss, as they have always done. But well done to India on their victory. Link to comment

Mr. Wicket
Don't think it reinforces their dominance - else the result would be different. It does reinforce though their amazing fighting qualities. Against almost any other team, the game would have been over by the 35th over with far less of a struggle. Australia's the only team that'll keep scrapping and fighting until the game's finally over. Link to comment

So i would say, this game reinforces the fact that the Aussies are overrated.:haha: Link to comment

Bumper
This should have been your second consecutive loss to India-B, unfortunately the Gabba game did not complete. The only world cups that matter are the ones to be played in the future. Link to comment

King
Count the number of times Ausies have won against India since Perth test match. BTW as Bumps said 3/4th of the team is inexperienced. Compare that with the Aussies. Ausie struggling to come to terms against Indian pace attack consistently in Australia is not good news for Australia. Link to comment

Gambit
India's the only team to bowl the Aussies out for less than 200 twice in a long time. And I don't even remember the last time Australia got bowled out for less than 200 in Australia. But the only thing that is being reinforced these days is that Ishant is Punter's daddy. Guest HariSampath
Three straight World Cups would suggest otherwise... And this loss was only the third in 24 matches. We too have won Limited overs world cups thrice. 1. 1983 Prudential world cup ( unseating the mighty Windies , 2 time winners , for the first time) 2. 1985 World championship of Cricket in Australia , without dropping a single game , when all the major nations played 3. 2007 T20 world cup in SAF....for the inaugural edition So if you see India in limited overs cricket in tournaments where all top sides play, we havent done too badly Even in recent series past few months , we are the only side to be successful against Aussies ( out of 6 ODIs plus 1 T20 back home, we won 3 games) Even in this series, India would have been 2-0 up against Aus, but for the rain.. We are the reigning T20 champs , and Aus has beaten us just once in this version ( on an off day), but Aus are the regning 50 overs champs and we have beaten them more often . ( and more to come) Link to comment

But well done to India on their victory. Damning with faint praise? That's not very Australian, is it? I think India have done hugely well to match Australia in the Test series and then put one over them at their favourite ground now in the ODIs. Not many sides can boast of that. Australia should be proud of the fact that they competed, but in the end India's bowling excellence was too much for them. Gilly got a bad decision, but so did Sehwag. What happened to the old adage- it all evens out? Is that to be intoned only when it suits you, like after daylight robbery at Sydney? Australia now respect India, and know they can be beaten at their own game in their backyard, which is what this rambling OP proves. It's been a long time coming, this snivelling thread, but it was well worth the wait. It sums up the anger, frustration, fury and humiliation that every Australian fan and player is feeling right now. Link to comment
