Saini bowled poorly at the start and did not support Rajpoot. Vijay Shankar is not exactly a third seamer. He is a part timer in Ganguly and Robin Singh category. Poor selection by Dravid has hurt them in this game.  third pacer in the form of Siraj could have made a huge difference.  You have two pacers and one goes off color early on then you have nothing to fall back upon.

Is Siraj that good to be international level?

because he was bowling well then. He may not be bowling that well now.

he was our best pacer on SA A tour.  he does have good potential.

Siraj is raw, but pacy.  You can teach bowling nous and skills, can't teach pace. Siraj deserves to be in the mix of the top dozen fast bowling prospects in India.  Rest depends on how well he develops.

Saini has been sitting on the bench for a very long time and lacks match practice. Did not get to play a single IPL game or the test against Afghanistan.

 

He was rusty.  But picked up 2 wickets later.

It is very strange that Dravid picked just 2 specialist pacers.

Shaw is playing too fast and we all know he kinda throw his wicket in flow but I hope this doesn't happen this time and he can get a century.
