King
That was blatant. I just mentioned this in the match thread. What the heck were the umpires doing? Geez... there may have been any number of stuff ups the Aussie fielders continue to claim catches they have grassed and the umpires take their word for granted all the time. I don't expect Channel 9 to show many replays. BTW guess who's umpiring today? The Aussie commentators continue to praise the non catch and don't make a mention of the ball grassed at all. Am I the only one that can see the ball was grassed? Link to comment
fineleg
Ball WAS GRASSED!!! Not Out! Commentators are totally blabbering!!! Link to comment
fineleg
Aus cheating and umpire uselessness continues! Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
It was clearly grassed and NO way Symonds could not have known it, this is a clearcut case of deliberately claiming a NON catch...ugghh disgusting...I hope SL win this one somehow ! Link to comment
zubinpepsi
its amazing really how the commentators dont even mention a word about it.. heck they dont even show the replays tht much.... but they keep saying a brilliant catch.... shows how much aussies cheat n keep doing it.... disgusting... King
Win at any cost is their name of the game. I think they reckon umpires should be calling shots not fielders. I quite agree with that too, what are umpires for? Are they blind or what? Link to comment
DomainK
I havent seen it:( But i am by Aussie and Symonds nature that it must have been grounded. Link to comment
talksport
IF SL wins , the incident will be swept under the carpet.... If Aus wins there is a faint chance Ranatunga might escalate....but again BCCI doesnt want Symonds/Ponting to be black marked, which means SL board has to shut up.... Oh Well, It is atleast recorded in ICF Link to comment
DomainK
I want lanka to win and I want India and SL to play the final...that would be the best blow to the Aussies. Link to comment
beetle
There is a match going on?????????????:omg: Link to comment
Gambit
I haven't seen it yet but tell me, could Symonds have known himself whether it was grassed or not when he took the catch? Link to comment
bunny
Of all the disputable catches this summer, this was the one where the fielder should have known that he grounded it. This deserves a fine at the least. Link to comment
King
Ridiculous suggestion by Mark Taylor. Tony Grieg questioned the catch and Taylor said he had the fingers wrapped around the ball. Don't tell me Symonds has has fingers as long as 20 odd inches to wrap the fingers around the ball. Either the commentators are blind or they are defending knowing it will snow ball. This effort was no different from Ponting claiming the catch in Perth. The ones that stupid now is not the umpires, the catcher, the batsman but the commentators. It's a disgrace these commies. beetle
If the player can't tell...then it is better to let the third umpire decide. The aussies have been known to decieve umpires with their acting .... Link to comment
Dirty_South
Holy Moly ! That was Not Out !!! OMG ! Ozzies r cheaters... Link to comment
16 str8
Got to love this. Some people's lives are so pathetic and bitter they spend all their time searching frantically for an Australian mistake. Even despite the fact that close up replays clearly showed two fingers under the ball. Forget the whinging poms, its the crying Indians! Link to comment
King
I haven't seen it yet but tell me' date=' could Symonds have known himself whether it was grassed or not when he took the catch?[/quote'] Absolutely mate. When you caught the ball with palm facing down it's quite obvious the ball's hitting the ground. The commentators are suggesting the little finger and the 4th finger was wrapped around the ball that stopped the ball from hitting the ground. Imagine this one goes into classic catches bucket :hysterical: Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
No way he caught that one, and he SURELY knew it, but still claimed Link to comment
