I will play pandya only if he can last a average of 50-60 balls/ test innings and score at average of 30+ effective runs. runs scored after we take a lead or going after bowlers do not count. his wickets are a plus and he should be able to bowl for 10 over a day not leaking more than 3 rpo. rahul will mostly fail in second innings. there is no way they will retain him for WI and australia series. if mayank does not get a chance for WI series its a grave injustice. so my guess is mayank and shaw will open. who knows they can be the new gambo/sehwag or vijay/dhawan. Rahul i feel will go the rohit way. we were lucky to get a kohli else this team is taking us back to late 80s with their batting . Link to comment

Against Wi Shaw Rahul Pujara Nair vihari Pandya Pant Ashwin (captain) Jadeja Siraj Saini Rest kohli for while, he has back issue and he needs to get some rest now....that also allows us to try other batsman This wud be my lineup but not final coz i wud like to see the timeline for NZ-A tour (coz i wish both pujara n rahane are send their to prep for A-tour) Drop rahane , send him with A-team to NZ to prep for Aus tour. Shaw Rahul Pujara Nair Vihari Shankar Pant/Karthik Ashwin (c) Jadeja Umesh Siraj pandya shud play in india as his batting will develop only when he scores runs n gets some confidence, also his bowling is wud be more suited in Indian condition then shankar. another option ,shankar can also be played and pandya can be send to NZ on A tour Karthik shud be nowere in picture now , pant shud play and get some runs under his belt to get his confidence going both are facing a wc bowling unit in their own backyard in helpful conditions which is not easy for anyone, if others are allowed to makeup their avg at home so shud they be to and they need that confidence to or else self doubts will creep in Link to comment
