Let's hope Australia and NZ will give them a tough competition and expose all the TTFs with in the team.

The format in which the World cup will be played will also give this team enough time to identify the best players before the knockout stages. So it will all depends on the squad they select.

Selection of playing 11 for Aus & NZ will give a clue.

Who knows batters considered only as 3rd opener , may suddenly be found be fit for no. 4 ? DK  may get a good run. Failure there.

Well doors closed .

Openers should occupy only top 3 positions. There's not enough time for them to get used to middle-order positions. Who knows, maybe even Dhoni will be thrown out.

As of now, the first priority is given to the following players,

DK

Rayudu

Dhoni

Jadhav

The potential players who can replace them in-case if they fail include,

Pant

Pandey

Krunal

Gill (Rahane)

Hope they will not go for Rahane again.

I would like to see a completely young side in the ODIs vs Windies .. Something like the following would be great

Shaw

Rahul (C)

Mayank

Shubman

Shreyas

Nitish Rana

Rishabh (WK1)

Sanju (WK2)

Krunal (AR1)

Washington (AR2)

Markande

Khaleel

Nagarkoti

Sran

Siraj

This will help us get a good idea of the bench strength and will also let the youngsters play without any pressure while also taking the responsibilities on themselves.

This is the depressing thing.  Even 2015 was winnable for us. But the cover-story works for most fans - hey we made the semi-finals.

Making the semi-finals, when there are only 4 decent ODI teams on the planet, is a default, not an achievement.

Dhoni needs to go.  Rishabh should have been given maximum games to be groomed.  Instead the team used Hardik Pandya's hitting to paper over the power deficit in the lower order, and give "long rope" to Dhoni and similar washed-up players - Yuvi, Karthik, Rayudu.

KL Rahul should be batting at #3, with Rohit Sharma given clear instructions to not eat balls up front.  Essentially have 3 openers up top.  Kuptaan Wrogn should recognize that the team batting order works better if he controls the middle overs from the #4 s lot.

But, nobody cares.  Let the pampered top 3 keep their slots like its baap ki jaagir.  who cares about making the team better, and getting ready to be at its best for the WC.

Bump.  I knew we'd **** the bed  with the bat in WC 2019 in self-inflicted fashion.  Well ahead of time.

If you keep your eyes open and put aside biases and pre-confirmed notions, things become obvious.
