They were from Punjab till 1965. Do you dispute this ? Yes/no please.

Gorkhas are FROM West Bengal, if they are Indians. Do you dispute this ? Yes/no please ?

The line is not artificial, i have already said that most of Indian punjab and Haryana has been ONE PROVINCE since the days of Akbar, with only time not being part of same province from 1575 AD to 1965 is the 25-30 year period of Ranjit Singh's rule.

Nothing artificial about being the same province/land for nearly 400 years. Its almost as long as Sikh religion itself being around.

Having own culture or language is irrelevant to being grouped into a province or not. The primary job of the province is to govern efficiently. If its more efficient to group Haryana and Punjab together, go for it. If its more efficient to split up UP in 4 parts, go for it.

Provinces exist to serve as administrative assistant to the nation. Nothing more. The moment they are more trouble than they are helping the nation function, is the moment they get re-organized.

Generally people are happier to form nations/states with people who are like them, there will be at least one less cause to fight among the people. Case in point Yugoslavia and Pre-partition India.

Well we are Indians, we are proving that wrong every facking day. That nation over there, is made up of sub-nations and isn't gonna change, because whether people obfuscate with this whole anti-India ' India was never united before Mughals/Brits', it doesnt change the fact that Indian subcontinent is the only place where different nations have existed under the same empire quite happily because the empire was taking good care of them and nobody did the whole 'fack you magadh, we are bengali, we are leaving or fack u Kannada speaking Rashtrakuta ar$holes, we are Tulu so we wanna seperate'.

Pre-Partition Yugoslavia or Austro-Hungary are totally different from Pre-Partition India, because in India's case, one religion wanted out, regardless of ethnicity and stuff, while in those European lands, they are socially backwards enough to think that speaking the same language and having the same religion is some sort of good reason for manifest destinty, instead of sticking with people who have the same geography and thus, same interests as you for day to day lives.

In the more civilised areas in the world the people choose to seperate to form countries where they are a majority and have more control over their destiny. Czechoslovakia split peacefully into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Montenegro split from Serbia recently. Scotland was on the verge from separating from Britain and may actually do so in the near future as most of the remain voters were the older people. The people should decide.

The Soviet Union was also another country that separated relatively peacefully and the people from the smaller countries like Ukraine, Lithuania are happy about this.
