Never got his pace back. He was not as quick as he was at the start of his career but losing pace might not be the reason for this, however,2nd innings of his career was what made him an Indian ATG. It all worked out. Anyways I used to see him up his pace time to time in the low to mid 140s especially when the ball was reversing(2007-2011 only) and slow down when there was seam movement available. Not comparing but even Steyn does the same thing. Bowls in the mid 130s when the ball is swinging and seaming when he is capable of bowling in the 150s naturally .atleast when he was younger. Maybe he didn’t lose pace entirely but just found that sweet spot rather than aimlessly hurling at 150s and getting injured and being a spray gun. with all the injuries he had sure he lost a few yards after 2011 till end of his career Edited December 27, 2018 by maniac Link to comment
bhakum20
Feel bad for Umesh who'll miss out celebrating possibly one of our greatest victories ever. Will always have a soft spot for him as someone who put this "need for speed" challenge in the 4th gear. Mosher 1 Link to comment

Exactly he started all this along with Aaron it might even be fitting to get Aaron back for home season.. They started this genuine pace revolution. Time to look back at what he has done and appreciate him for that. Mosher and Rightarmfast 2 Link to comment
