Suggestions for Standardised Home Season of India Cricket

It is time that the BCCI regularise our home season.. it is pathetic that we play a lot in one year and then nothing the next.. this year we had only 2 tests vs WI while in 2019 we have 5 scheduled tests including 3 vs SAF and 2 vs Ban .. this will be followed up with a whopping 0 in 2020 (Ridiculous) while followed up with 7 in 2021 against Eng and NZ

2018 - 2 tests vs WI

2019 - 5 tests vs SAF and BAN

2020 - 0 tests

2021 - 7 tests vs ENG and NZ

Every good test playing nation has a proper home season and BCCI for all its powers and money has not able to regularise one.. I suggest we can reserve SEP till NOV for home season every  year playing around 6 tests and 10-12 LOIs inviting 2 countries each year.

e.g. in 2019 we can have SAF playing 4 tests as follows

SEP 1-5, 9-13, 20-24 and 28- Oct 2

7 LOIs on Oct 2,5,8,11,14,17,20,23

Then we can have maybe Ban team come in to play 5 LOIs from Oct 29, Nov 1,4,7,10

And 2 tests between Nov 14-18 and Nov 22-26

It's the best time as this is the festive season in India and also the weather is not too bad.

This will also let us have enough time to prepare early during a year when we may have to tour the southern hemisphere considering we can start with a boxing day test.

I would also like to hear what others on the forum think about this..

Good thread. :two_thumbs_up:

Normally, the home seasons of  SENA teams are played in their summers. And we have the legendary pyjama league dominating our summers.

However, September to December can be standardized as India's home season, although the monsoon might effect a few earlier games. There must be 7 tests, 7-9 odis and 4-5 t20s . Also there must be an annual game of standardized higher profile like the Boxing day test or a pink odi in Joburg. How about a Diwali test?

No? Okay.

.why can't India announce sooner the venue's and dates  for test matches ?

Other countries announce well in advance but India leave it late and anyone from another country  is scrambling to book time off work , they lose the chance to get the cheapest flytes . Is there a reason for this ?

It frustrates me knowing there is a test match in say November but no dates or venue k

That's probably because shyte BCCI and COA just care about holding on to their posts.. they don't care about the fans.. no marketing or çonvenience to attract fans..
