Follows that up with a good series against Windies at home where he gets a 73 and a hundred. Retires from first class cricket in order to focus on the main prize. Tours Australia and fails in the Odis. Murmurs begin. Scores a couple of 40s and a 90 against NZ and looks to have fixed his spot. However in a sudden turn of events gets slayed by Aussie knights Sir Cummins, Sir Lyon and Sir Zampa in the home series. Fails to find himself in the WC team. Orders 3d glasses in bitterness thus ending the tale of Ser Ambati Rayudu.

Sir Rahane of Ashwi Khurd

India's No 4 in WC 2015. Played a great knock against a gun SA pace bowling unit to showcase his talents. After a loss to SA at home, thanks to the invincible Lord AB De Villiers of Chinnaswamy, loses his no 4 spot, thereafter sticking around as backup opener and doing reasonably well. Grand Maester Ravi Shastri and Sir Virat Kohli hatch a cunning plan to oust Sir Rahane by dropping him for a couple of tests in SA in favour of Sir Rohit Sharma. After losing the series and realizing their mistake Sir Kohli gifts Sir Rahane's no 4 spot back to him only to snatch it back at the end of the series. Sir Rahane lives in hope of a WC recall ever since and dreams of the Iron Spot that was once his.

Sir Karthik of Chennai

Been around far longer than the other players. After being ignored since 2014 finds himself back in the team in place of the magnificent but washed up Sir Yuvraj Singh of Chandigarh vs WI in 2017. Plays on and off for a year before achieving his glorious moment by single handedly defeating a fierce horde of Tiger turned Nagins and silencing the naughty warrior Lord Rahim of Bogra. His ODI form remains unspectacular but finds himself in the WC squad as an understudy to the incomparable Sir MS Dhoni of Ranchi.

Sir Shankar of Tirunelveli

In the series where Sir Karthik achieves his crowning glory another young warrior Sir Shankar emerges. His inexperience almost costs India the match but Sir Karthik saves the day. Sir Shankar learns from this and looks better in the series against Australia and New Zealand. Selectors are impressed with this young lord and give him a spot in the WC squad but whether or not he gets the coveted Iron Spot(No 4) remains to be seen

Sir Rahul of Bengaluru

Young, dynamic and highly skilled Sir Rahul makes his test debut in the fearsome land of Australia and scores a 100 in his second test. Is touted for great things by everybody. Breaks his stereotype as a test player in IPL by scoring rapidly and gets selected for limited overs cricket. Has a great start but falters as Grand Maesters Shastri and MSK Prasad start playing lottery with the Iron Spot. Loses his test form in the midst of all this but manages to stick around with spurts of brilliance. Complicates matters for himself by accompanying Sir Pandya of Choryasi to the den of the cunning Sir Johar of Bollywood. However has a good IPL 2019 and his slowly but surely crawling his way to the Iron Spot.
