Mast scene. Aaj main bachaoonga kal kaun bacchane aayega. Simple and yet so powerful. One of the better pictures of Mehul Kumar. Quite depressing to see Nana Patekar not making 5% of money that the current bozzos maa-***** make.

Underrated to nahin hai. He is widely recognized as one of our best. However he is not a masala hero and doesnt make any false pretences. No nautanki waala naachna-gaana. He really puts hardwork into his roles. I am reminded of Prahaar where he really worked hard for the role of the commando and apparently towards the end he convinced Indian Army enough to ask him to join. My favorite role of his is the rather unheralded Thora sa Rumaani ho jaaye, watch it if you havent. Also Parinda was stellar. Angaar was stellar too. Jackie-Nana combo made some really mast movie.

There are many such brilliant actors who are now in wilderness... Ashutosh Rana comes in mind instantly.. also Manoj Vajpeyi,... Irfaan Khan is not getting enough roles to do justice to his talent.. these are among the younger crops of actors... that "Bhura" or traitor guy from Lagaan is good enough...

NP was terrific in this movie. An oft overlooked movie of his is Ankush. It dealt with frustrations youths regarding unemployment faced in the 70s and 80s. Somewhat like Mere Apne and Yuva. Great movie.

Ankush was a brilliant movie. This was the movie that essentially catapulted N Chandra into the big league(he followed Ankush with Pratighaat, Tezaab and Narsimha, all were big hits). Ankush had some terrific acting by Nana, Raja Bundela and Madan Jain(a very underrated actor). I remember Ankush for this lovely girl Nisha(or Neesha?). She used to be a staple in television those days. Beautiful face and a singing lilting voice. You may also find her in Sagar Sarhadi's Bazaar where she acts as Faruqh Shaikh's silent lover and keeps lacing her pain with shers and ghazals. Wonder what happened to her?

Nisha Singh- beautiful face but crap acting Ankush was awesome and then N Chandra made pathetic movies with overblown rape and violence scenes Tezaab was one of the worst movies ever

Nana Patekar is legend. A really good actor at the roles he does, though i think he lacks the versatality of a Sanjeev Kumar or Anupam Kher a bit. Mind you, he is still pretty versatile. My favourite Nana Patekar role was from a movie a very long time ago- where he played a villain/semi-villain guy. I forget the name of the movie, but it was set half in Mumbai, half in Mauritius and he was playing the husband/ex-husband of Manisha Koirala. One of the first roles in Bollywood where the villain isnt just dyed-in-red bad-guy who you love to hate, he actually transcended that steriotype and had the audience identifying with him too after a while. Brilliant actor.

What about Tiranga? Without failing I watch this movie on August 15th of every year. Nana's dialogue delivery makes him this special. His role in Welcome was quite cheesy yet rib tickling due to his facial expressions and dialogue delivery.
