Now Punter has failed in the final as a bat and as a captain and the WC is 3 years away. I believe the Aussie selectors will appoint Clarke or Hussey as the next ODI captain very very soon.

King Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I don't think so. SRW then was not too young and Ponting isn't that old. This could well be the end of super bat Ponting though. He now has self doubt and can get out often for cheap. I think unlike Sachin or Lara there is more pressure on Ponting given if he continues to fail in couple more series CA may not be too kind to him. Pity he doesn't shut up either. He puts himself under a lot of pressure by talking big.
