zen Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Chasing 335, SL made 87/0 in PP. Brought RRR down from 6.7 to only 6.2! Some of the other teams would have seen the RRR creep up to 7+. Reminded me of SL of the 90s!

Teams that are in with a chance are playing more responsible and conservative game. Obviously being more successful in that process as well.

We reached 352 after being 40/0 lol Teams that finish the game well always win. Australia finished with a wimper. They collapsed in the end.

Rohit has an FCA of 2.5 while playing blocking shots PS if Eng were chasing 330 odd, it could have won. Made 334 chasing 349 Edited June 15, 2019 by zen

If Rohit, Kohli are still around 30th over chasing 300 i back them to chase it down. All 350 plus chases were done with the help of Kohli. He didn't exactly go boom boom at the start. He always picked up the pace only later in the innings. Even the recent Australia's successful 350 chase against India was achieved by death over hitting. Keeping the wickets and going after lesser bowlers in the middle is a smart strategy for teams like us. Bottomline is you should never concede 350 in the first place. No team has chased 300 plus successfully in this world cup England failed, Windies failed, Pakistan failed, Australia failed, SA failed (Twice) Chasing is very hard in world cup.

If a side is chasing a big score, it is established that conditions are good for batting (or have improved) so a good start is important.
