A country satisfied with mediocrity

I am absolutely amazed at how the social media and Twitterattis are reacting to this defeat !

They are so cool and recating as if we won the cup, how great we performed and what a champion team we are!

In reality ,getting into the semis of an already depleted field (cricketing nations I.e) is a nothing achievement for the world's richest cricket board, highest paid cricketers and the only sport which is followed religiously.

Now please dont compare with England ,there priorities lie in different sports and they win plenty of Olympic medals we can dream .

This team doesn't deserve any sort of felicitation !

Any proper cricketing fan knew this team will blow up in one of the KOs and it happened ,only deluded fools thought of this team as world beaters

The social media has helped players' PR teams to spin the narratives. You just need some memes and blind fans will keep repeating and sharing. There is a huge PR effort for players like Dhoni and Kohli and the narratives everywhere, from main stream media channels to social media is strictly being controlled.

Welcome to the world of unlimited internet access, as internet has boomed in India (and the world), the narratives can easily be planned and controlled. The reality and facts does not matter at all, whether it is politics or sports. you make memes and catch phrases and bullet lists  people blindly repeat and spread it everywhere

Someone like Trump would never have won before this age. Facts dont matter in this world, it is the spread of cult like thinking which can be shared in a click using memes and tweets which matter. We are all being socially engineered in this world and being controlled by businesses, PR teams and dedicated personals involved in spreading narratives. Welcome to the modern world of technology

Only difference is that England is competing against 32 very very strong teams in 90 minute matches where a freak kick or a pass can eliminate anyone on anyday.

In comparison we are competing in a sport where there are couple of strong teams namely 2 to be precise in Eng and Aus

True, but England do not get to these semi finals by playing great football, they usually have a huge amount of luck (Euro 96) or face weak teams (World Cup 1990 and 2018).

England got a huge parade in central London after finishing fourth in the 1990 World Cup. However the documentaries are the worst.
