Then you have 2 years to prepare. 2 years is not enough. We need to find back up players for the main team and they need to be also match ready. Hales was the backup opener for England and look at how many games he has played already. Link to comment

Rohit and Dhawan aren't going to retire anytime soon and it will hamper the growth of youngsters for opening position. Both are good enough in bilaterals to keep scoring to not get dropped ever. Problem is these are the times where we rarely get to see triangular tournaments which i believe were more valuable than modern day bilaterals,where finals were generally clutch matches Even if we do play these bilaterals which we have to ,we should move forward with atleast one young opener batting with either of Rohit ,Dhawan Link to comment
