Cricketics Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 a very sad day in INdian sport history today.. once Olympic HOckey champions... India, won't be going to play hockey in Beijing olympics this time around. we have failed to qualify for olympics a very sad day in hockey history (:(((
Predator_05 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Toh kya hua yaar. They would have embarrassed themselves in Beijing anyway. Indian hockey died in Athens 4 years ago.
panesarv Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Very sad indeed. Being at olympics is really important.
IndianRenegade Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 :((:((:(( Is this our National game? :((:((:((
Cricketics Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 the only hope for medal was hockey.. @ predator.. yaar i know we have been on decline in this decade..

Cricketics Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 tics must really be shattered... this is the first time I've seen him make a post without even one 'z' in there... yes indeed
Cricketics Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 Gah! Now you sound like Arun Lal! :P i really wanted to sound like one... i know its a very lame comeback from me..
umpire Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 sad day for national sports. We hit lowest, only thing is to go up. Thing is we should play our game, not try to adopt, imitate others style. how can we turn around our hockey?
Desi Cartman Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Sad day for Indian Hockey .. but hey how is that League competition doing in India. Havent heard anything about it for a while ?
mhr123 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 why can't some1 start Indian Hockey League .. same like ICF or ICL to raise the standard of the Game ,pump in some money and bring some foreign players. This would be good for Indian Hockey , may be this is the only way out/

This would be good for Indian Hockey , may be this is the only way out/ They did launch Indian Hockey League few years ago and pumped in some money too. I am not sure if it worked though
kabira Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 there is Professional Hockey League and I happen to watch couple of games. The standard of hockey was excellent in games I watched. ESPN runs it so not sure if they pump that money back to national hockey team
King Tendulkar Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Shocking we are not going to the olympics. Truly shocking. And to think they complained about not getting enough money compared to cricketers! They should be thankful they do not get same attention as otherwise they would be getting their houses burnt down!
ludhianvi Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I think whatever happened is probably good for the game. Now hard questions will be asked and many changes may be brought in. The whole IHF needs a turnaround.
beetle Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 What a heart breaking news ... But in a way it is good. This was the kick in the face that the sports authority and the hockey fed needed so badly. I hope they can remove all the decaying rotten top brass.(Gill has already refused to resign) the only hope for medal was hockey.. @ predator.. yaar i know we have been on decline in this decade.. Nah cricketics...they were never a medal prospect.More likely to get some in sports like shooting .....

coffee_rules Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Shameful as it is...losing out to GBritian in Hockey seems like a painful parting shot.
