Pant doesn't have that advantage.

There is a reason why those two have a successful T20 career. Yes, he is a big hitter but he needs to settle in and get his eye in. Even when he became a sensation during his early days when he played the knocks against Pak and Sri Lanka, it was a very calculated build up in the early part of the innings. Dhoni's biggest downfall is not his hand eye coordination or this new found responsibility, his downfall has been the change in the power play rules were the opposition is forced to have more fielders in the circle. velu 1
Peshust Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Not condoning or applauding team Management's handling of Pant...what I have heard from extremely reliable sources ( privy to TM news) about him is that the guy is very immature (mentally) and naive for his age.

And yet for some reason he seems to behave so well in IPL playing under two legends of the game - Dada and Ponting, both of whom have nothing but praise for his attitude.

Both things need not be inconsistent with each other- he may be well behaved as well as tremendously naive. Somebody like Suresh Rains is reputed to have good attitude and to be a complete team man and yet known to pick wrong advice. Again, these kind of opinions are not aired in public. Judgments also tend to be subjective. Edited September 27, 2019 by Peshust
