Agree. Rahul is top quality player and certainly much better than Dhawan. No brainer actually as to who is better in T20i. In ODI Rahul just does not has the strike rate expected in modern day ODI cricket.

Give him security n fixed position it ll get better with time.A guy who can bat fast in t20 can also in ODI but he wont if he knws he ll get dropped after 1-2 failures. Such logic works with guys like rahane whom we knw lack power game in 1st place Players get better with time n security Dhawan- his s.r got better with time 2013 26 25 2 5 4 1 119 1162 50.52 97.89 11 0 2014 18 18 1 1 6 0 113 815 47.94 86.52 9 0 2015 20 20 0 2 4 0 137 745 37.25 85.44 10 0 2016 5 5 0 1 2 0 126 287 57.40 100.35 3 0 2017 22 22 2 3 6 1 132* 960 48.00 101.37 11 0 2018 19 19 1 3 2 0 127 897 49.83 102.28 10 0 2019 18 17 1 2 2 2 143 583 36.44 91.81 7 0 Overall (9) 133 131 7 17 27 5 143 5518 44.50 94.02 62 0 Rohit sharma- his got better with time n security 2007 4 3 0 0 1 0 52 61 20.33 82.43 3 0 2008 28 28 7 0 3 2 70* 532 25.33 72.58 8 0 2009 9 7 3 0 0 1 43* 102 25.50 65.81 7 0 2010 15 14 1 2 1 2 114 504 38.77 86.01 5 0 2011 16 16 5 0 6 0 95 611 55.55 82.68 3 0 2012 14 13 0 0 1 3 68 168 12.92 66.93 6 0 2013 28 27 4 2 8 0 209 1196 52.00 80.81 6 0 2014 12 12 1 1 3 0 264 578 52.55 94.29 5 0 2015 17 17 1 3 4 2 150 815 50.94 95.43 6 0 2016 10 10 1 2 2 0 171* 564 62.67 95.27 5 0 2017 21 21 3 6 5 1 208* 1293 71.83 99.46 4 0 2018 19 19 5 5 3 1 162 1030 73.57 100.10 11 0 2019 28 27 1 7 6 1 159 1490 57.31 89.92 8 0 Overall (13) 221 214 32 28 43 13 264 8944 49.14 88.88 77 0

I would say Rahul is damn good and wordlcass in T20i. One of the few players in world to average 45 and having sr 144. In Tests he is pathetic and in ODI his strike rate of 80 is just not suitaable for modern era cricketers who have debuted in this decade. Would like to see Iyer picked instead of Rahul in ODI. I agree completely, Rahul if he learns how to increase his tempo after PP in t20s he will become number T20 player. But I would not have him in my test or odi teams.
