From being a butt of jokes to such an integral part of our test team, most improved player our Lambu :hatsoff:. Once upon a time there were threads like 'worst player who will play 100 test', 'pick 300 wickets' etc. Now his average is better than Zaheer's and I for one want him to target Kapil's tally. 4 wickets per test->will need around 35 more matches, <4 years with more than half of them outside SC. What an amazing redemption arc it will be, Gillespie must be one hell of a coach !!!!

all down to him curbing his natural length a bit, seeing the ball finishing on the knee roll rather than the ball hitting the deck, zen level advise.

I think that him not playing white ball formats anymore has played a little part in that as well. He seemed like a player who was confused with the different formats and the requirements of it. Gillespie helped him a lot with his length but credit where it's due, Ishant has really worked hard to turn his career around. If he can get his average under 30 for 400+ wickets, he will be better than most of the Indian pacers.
