Seriously, why would you play a guy going at 8-9 RPO in every match.

 

Keep in mind, NZ is a place with small grounds and it can be difficult to defend. Bowlers like Shardul would be butchered and will loose you games despite having a decent score. 

 

Also, Aggarwal looks out of sorts in batting department.

 

If Kohli is not good with the selections, then what are coaches, selectors etc. doing there? I believe an individual should never have too much say in a domain as key as selection, selectors should discuss with team management regarding roles and profiles of the players alongside key stats. 

 

From what I see, Shardul is hardly a "stop-gap" for someone like Hardik. But then again, I wouldn't have someone like Shardul as a bench player covering up for an injury in all important semi final.
