fineleg
Well not a "pathetic" lineup but certainly we should have had this lineup for 350. 200 extra runs due to an insipid display by Team India. Can we draw this match? India not gonna win this. So, forget that. Please vote. Link to comment
Holysmoke
Where's the option for India to win? Link to comment
Laaloo
nop im still up for an indian win i dont think saf will survive kumble and sehwag on day 4 Link to comment
msb1991
Well not a "pathetic" lineup but certainly we should have had this lineup for 350. ?! South Africa have a very good batting line up and the pitch is extraordinarily flat, even for India. South Africa's line up is without weakness and down to seven, is filled with very good batsmen. DomainK
The chances of an Indian win are there. Five hundred runs in the first innings will give India a chance. And there there is a good chance of a first innings lead as well. And then the pitch might turn in late day 4 and day5. Link to comment
cochise
@GS Nah! I want Indian batting side to get good time in the middle and a good look at SA bowlers. Rain will not do. The chances of an Indian win are there. Five hundred runs in the first innings will give India a chance. And there there is a good chance of a first innings lead as well. And then the pitch might turn in late day 4 and day5. Outside chance. First things first. Lots of batting. Link to comment
DomainK
Pray for rain! No way....I would prefer to see India lose than to see the match drawn due to rain. Link to comment
Shehezaada
we can still win if we bat for another 1.5 days and get a lead of around 75 runs Link to comment
cochise
Think of India as like Australia in Adelaide this year and hope the pitch plays to our tune, holding up and deteriorating alike to our advantage... Link to comment
f.b.m
Any chance of victory depends on a first innings lead. Link to comment
gs
Ok, pray for a Veeru special then :D Link to comment
Predator_05
India won't win this. The bowling attack isn't good enough to take 20 wickets in these conditions. I am sure South Africa wouldn't want to beat up Steyn's knees either. India should draw this one comfortably, free runs for all Link to comment
Ram
Pathetic batting line-up ? :dontknow: Any side that has AB DeVillers coming in at no.6 is really strong. In McKenzie, Amla and AB, the Saffies have 3 of the top 10 most talented young batsman in their team. And boucher at no.7 is like running into a brick-wall after you thought you have mowed down the steel fence. Link to comment

But taking into account, that they are batting in Madras hot and humid conditionz, zero practice matches, etc. we could have caught them offguard with some disciplined if not penetrative bowling. Even if pitch is not allowing for penetrating bowling, discipline in both bowling and fielding would have seen them fold for 350+ in 1st Inn, and that would have been a proud achievement on this pitch. fineleg
They are coming from a tour of Bangladesh remember... thats enough practice. Bangladesh tour should have them somewhat acclimatized but not "prepared" for facing a supposedly much much stronger Indian team. I'd really hope we much much stronger and skilled than some stupid ban team? and we (rather than Ban) know how to capitalize the conditionz. Also, we gave too many freebie boundaries, this is a record in # of 4s by a visiting team in Test inn in India. Atleast if we had made them work for runz, they are bound to make mistakes in the tiring and humid conditionz. But easy runz were given away. Link to comment
King
Saffies are not pathetic. Not sure if you remember this very team won test and ODI series in Pakistan. The pitch hardly had anything for the bowlers and Saffies batted well enough for the runs. India will draw this one surely. No chance of any result other than draw on this pitch. Link to comment
