Played an active role against emergency, also took on Jyoti Basu and later Mamata&goons when atrocities were at peak. Bengal badly needs his replacement, during all the recent pogroms by TMC backed Islamists he risked his life to protect innocents, spent so much time in jail, was on the hit list of JMB and other Islamic terrorists because he refused to back down. Some may find him extreme but need someone like him, one of the most important public figures in Bengal since Independence. FU China. Modi and Shah didn't express condolences publicly or on SM, that is how much the party values dharmic warriors. Same *ers make 20 tweets if Shabana Azmi meets with a minor accident, or when some Kashmiri separatist dies. No time for people who actually made them what they are today. I am sure some ICFers will laugh at this, but what Tapan da has done at the grassroots in Bengal, the way he was woken up the Bengali youth, the way he put himself in danger during all those communal pogroms.....Shah, Modi and Yogi combined haven't done that much in Guj, UP. He has given courage to the Bengalis who are facing persecution, he has given hope that the state can be saved. I wasn't this sad when Vajpayee or Sushma died.
