Watch the finals of 83 wc highlights. Sunny is playing without a helmet Opening vs Holding,Roberts, Garner etc on a spicy pitch and seems so nonchalant about it

BTW I could have understood if there was no helmet available otherwise whats up with this fake bravado of playing without helmet and then suddenly one Indian/Slankan trundler forced you to wear helmet.

I think even back then the WI bowlers only went into kill mode with bouncers the moment they saw someone being uncomfortable or struggling.

 

As I mentioned above watching some of Sunny and other players of that era who played without a helmet, they would casually move away or in the right zone would pull it and the bowler just went back and bowled something else.

 

However the moment they saw say someone like Suresh Raina a bunny against short pitch the WI fast bowlers took turns like a bunch of black men do on some popular online movies.
