jf1gp_1 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) So a 5th of Pak cricket squad either is or at some point was infected. Now this is state of national team which, I am assuming is medically well supported, yet as a nation they have covid under control and only 0.2% of population was or is infected. By the looks of it they don't even have testing capabilities. Edited December 5, 2020 by jf1gp_1
ShoonyaSifar Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Irrespectve of the best of bio-bubbles and stringent protocols, this covid can still spread for a moment of indiscretion as the covid cases before IPL/BBL and SA-Eng series have shown. If it becomes a covid emergency, everything else takes a backseat, simple as that. Here we have what looks like a deliberate case of negligence on part of Pak govt, PCB and the players. Pakistanis ranting against NZ health officials and their disrespectful briefings have the option of petitioning their government to call the team back. putrevus 1

I don't think they even tested the players before they left for NZ. We can safely assume that knowing how Pakistanis work .Whenever they get caught doing something wrong, they always try to deflect the blame instead of owning to their mistakes. But this is not some ball biting or match fixing issue which is related just to cricket. These morons have to understand the gravity of the issue. Edited December 5, 2020 by putrevus

The larger issue is the testing protocols and accuracy in Pakistan. Imagine they could not detect even historical cases despite multiple tests before departure. The whole thing looks like a sham. And to have the fake audacity to first break rules in NZ and then to show as if they are doing a favor by touring!

The low number of covid cases in pakistan have been up for debate for a long time now. Its been pointed out the test kits are in short supply and the ones available are the cheap chinese ones which the chinese offloaded there when they realised no other country will buy them. Add to that the young population ,most of them would be positive and would recover relatively unscathed. i shudder to think of people who have underlying conditions living in pakistan.
