Shubman Gill's 91 T3 D5.  Gave the initial impetus to go for the win.  The ease and grace with which he handled all the bowlers was a thrill to watch.

Biggest disappointment- None , i was expecting mayank n shaw to be in trouble

1. Favorite Bowling performance 

Ashwin's 3/35 (eco 1.46) on day 1 at MCG, just after the 36ao. Got Smith on a duck, initiated Aussie collapse. Set the tone for our fightback rest of the series. 

 

2. Favorite batting innings of the series

Has to be Pant's 89* at Gabba. Clutch performance. Got us over the line. Cannot ask for more. 

 

3. Favorite contest of the series

Cummins vs our batting. He was on fire this series.

 

4. Costliest Drop of the series

It would have been Labuchagne's drop by Rahane but thankfully we won at Gabba. So have to go with Paine's drops at Sydney day 5.

 

5. Most unexpected performance of the series

Thakur-Sundar's 123 runs 7th wkt partnership  at Gabba. Saved us from a sure shot series loss. Kept us in the hunt. 

 

6. Biggest disappointment of the series

Mayank. Shaw was untested in Aus and basically failed in just 1 test, but Mayank had a successful tour last time and got plenty of opportunities this time. 

 

7. Defining moment of the series

Rahane-Jadeja's 121 runs partnership at MCG. Played out our only wicketless session in the series, gave much needed confidence to our batting. Got us in the driver's seat to win the test and thus burry the 36ao monkey immediately.
