It is sports partnership between two countries. India excels in cricket and Brazil does the same in soccer. Indian President Pratibha Patil visited this soccer-obsessed, Latin American country as part of her 13-day, three nation tour to Brazil, Mexico and Chile. In Brazil, the slogan is ‘you help us in cricket and we help you in soccer.’ "BCCI will soon be sending a coach as Brazil wants the status of a cricket Test playing nation," Indian Ambassador to Brazil Hardeep Singh Puri said. While a coach from India, which ranks number two in Test cricket in world, has been selected to train the Brazilians, search for a football coach for India was still on, he added. "Football in this part of the world is highly professional and coaches charge a large amount. But something will be worked out shortly," Puri said. India had signed a cultural agreement in 2006 with Brazil, which ranks Number 2 in soccer in FIFA rankings, under which the two countries would cooperate in promoting exchanges in the field of football and training of Indian players and coaches. Even though I am witness to a lot of amits' outrageous predictions coming true, this one even the Gods might find too much to handle!:hysterical:

If I remember correctly, you then used to say that India would win the 2006 World Cup

I can see Bhaichung Bhutia scoring the winning penalty shot in the FIFA '14 final, running towards the photographers, taking off his shirt and reveal a slogan saying ' Screw you, China!' :giggle:

If I remember correctly' date=' you then used to say that India would win the 2006 World Cup[/quote'] it was 2006 world cup for hockey, not football. i never said anything about any football world cup before 2014

India can't even beat Oman and Lebanon, and whenever they face a proper World Cup side (ie; Japan or Saudi Arabia) they invariably get raped. Long way to go as a football nation. They won't become one in my lifetime.

Beware of amits. Dismiss his predictions at your own peril. amits predicted a 400 from Veeru before the Chennai test. Veeru fell only 80 short. 80% accuracy amits predicted SA will be bowled out for 94 in the Kanpur test. SA were 121 allout. Again close to 80% accurate. Methinks, in 2014, India will win 80% of the world cup finals. If we can somehow convince Pakistan to play in the world cup & they magically qualify for the finals, that will make amits's predictions 100% accurate.

why is INdia not improving (well maybe they are but it seems like they are stagnant) even with domestic leagues and foreign players. Is it simply that the talent threshold has been reached?
