Unless RCB is on the brink of elimination... There is no chance we will get to see him. Funny thing is all the other pacers barring Siraj are mediocre as hell. So trying a newbie wouldn't have been a bold move either. RCB backing Harshal & co is surely amusing. That guy is not even a gully mohalla bowler now. Mosher and express bowling 2

So u want Umran dropped after that over and get Tyagi instead? So sacrifice one guy for another? And then we go about saying we don’t encourage young quicks in this country. And yes they both should be given opportunities by replacing some other guy but we know that’s not gonna happen. Not talking about just 1 over ( anyone can get hit for runs in T20s ). But there must be objectivity in their bowling even when getting hit. I have watched almost every ball bowled by Umran in this IPL and he has disappointed me with his progress. He is around for almost 2 years now. But there has been nominal progress in terms of increasing his skills. He is still bowling some random deliveries without thinking much. Most importantly, both his accuracy and pace have gone down. Supporting someone does not mean being oblivious to his weaknesses and areas which need improvement. Infact, it is the other way round. Weaknesses should be identified and rectified. You don't get a pacer bowling 142 k to 152 k every day. And he should be properly developed instead of letting him bowl without objectivity, movement, yorkers and slower balls. If this goes on, he will be dubbed as a poor bowler and dropped for ever. And other genuine quicks won't be picked citing his example. 25 minutes ago, MK55 said: Also just how many overs has Tyagi even bowled? Not just IPL, basically in any format. Is the guy even fit to bowl express without breaking down perennially? That remains to be seen and the only way to see that is if he remains fit and then given chances. Just to clarify, I definitely want him in the side. In those few overs I’ve seen him all these years in the IPL, he had potential. The only way to make a pacer match fit is to play him in actual matches. Tyagi won't be fit unless he gets actual games. He is skilful too apart from pace 25 minutes ago, MK55 said: Someone like Marco Jansen is a different proposition. The guy is basically 6-10 and still bowls 142-143k. Need that kind of height to make a real impact. How many 6'10" pacers have we seen ? Most good bounce bowlers have been 6'2" to 6'6" range. That's good enough if a pacer has a high arm action and good seam position. Edited April 15, 2023 by express bowling Mosher 1

The only only guy fared better was Marco. Like what more do we want from a rookie pacer. This is T20 cricket after all. Yes definitely needs to improve. Absolutely. Doesn’t mean u start dropping just coz some other guy has got unrealized potential. Also as lone wolf pointed out… Just how brain dead it was to not have a fine leg in the power play when you have a guy like Rana in front of you.. and after he mistimed the very first ball exactly over there.

Both will happen with almost every bowler. I am talking about objectivity while bowling and picking up new skills as time passes. None have happened so far with Umran and these are not good signs. It is possible that he is being told to just bowl quick without thinking ... and if it is happening then it is not the right way to guide him. 11 minutes ago, MK55 said: Yes definitely needs to improve. Pacers must be rotated to find out who are the better ones. Infact, neither Bhuvi nor Nattu deserve every game either. But they are " untouchable " as they look slow and harmless. 11 minutes ago, MK55 said: Also as lone wolf pointed out… Just how brain dead it was to not have a fine leg in the power play when you have a guy like Rana in front of you.. and after he mistimed the very first ball exactly over there. And if we really want that to happen, the best time is learning from a match situation. Anyways it’s just the third match this IPl. And personally, I don’t think rotating at this stage and time is gonna do any favors skill development wise.. Anyways my opinion

Lone Wolf Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) This Mustafizur is such a average bowler. Left arm Harshal Patel more like. Can't believe bowlers like him are eating up a overseas quota spot. Taskin, Jayden Seals even that Dutch pacer Van Meekren, Ollie Stone & god knows how many better pacers are being left out. Short guys without natural bounce are more likely to struggle than not, unless they have some exceptional quality like Shami's seam position. Mavi, Nagarkoti, Deshpsnde, Mishra, Thampi all lack natural bounce. I know, all those names are far away from playing for India, don't think umran will ever be a test quality pacer, time is running out for prasidh tbh, Mohsin has barely played domestic cricket, we are left with Siraj and maybe Sen.
MK55 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Anrich Nortje has been the best fast bowler this IPL so far. Just look at the amount of full balls he bowls at good pace. That’s should be the go to delivery in this format for express bowlers. Woods the same.
MK55 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Interesting stat shown earlier. Fastest bowlers by average pace so far. 1: Wood 2: Joseph 3: Umran 4: Nortje express bowling 1

MK55 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Siraj has been the biggest positive among Indian pacers. This is the rhythm he should be bowling at always. Took a while for him, but finally things are changing for him in the ipl. Mosher 1
