They attack the stumps at pace and move some balls away as variation. They use bouncers only as surprise balls in India. Bumrah still trends to spray it a bit like he did in the World Cup knockouts . Against NZ , he started bowling full and wide Shami , since 2023 IPL, has become a ridiculously accurate bowler. He was giving barely any width and hardly anything was pitched up. It's some of the best ODI bowling ever by an Indian fast bowler.

Johnson was never express throughout his career. Not even in ODIs. He did not have a consistent action to do that until 2013. If you watch the older ODIs. He's a lot more floaty and some of his deliveries were even in the late 130's. The pacers who you are seeing bowling express in T20s will bowl slower in tests and ODIs too. Anyone who can hit 145 k+ on demand in tests is pretty quick and impressive. tapandrun and Mosher 2

Bumrah is accurate the issue is his new found love for swing bowling, when he is bowing seam he is not off the line. He still does not know how to control swing Mosher and express bowling 2

The long term replacements for Bumrah , Shami and Ishant need to be tried out. Kuldeep, Akashdeep , now Harshit and I think we have to invest more in Gurnoor Brar. That guy has a lot of potential Mayank is harder to predict. Express pacers have rarely proved to be bankers . Even the Aussies haven't found a way to do it. I was replying to the highlighted part.

tapandrun Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 (edited) If a t20 bowling line does not have a mystery bowler and/or some one like Malinga/Patirana then here is a generic combination/template that would work in t20 games. 1/2 fast bowlers who can take wkt in PP 2 defensive bowers who creates run-rate pressure and other would take wkts or under pressure batter mis hit here or there 1/2 spinner -(***Leg spin) 1/2 batter who can bowl. This is v.much how Pak t20 bowling is set up. Rajasthan Royals doing the same and DC also tried this last match So the first objective is to find mystery bowler its a force multiplier - Ind should look for 1 actively Edited April 3, 2024 by tapandrun express bowling 1

On a surface like Hyderabad everyone will be tonked... Only a accurate express pacer may survive a beating somehow. Your Mookesh with his low full tosses and Wide line will be clobbered to no end in most conditions. This joker got thrashed in SA in T20s... Bumrah bowled very accurately and looked to hit a length in the first match vs Australia and was brilliant. But by the end , he was floating it up and was not as impressive. Siraj was chasing swing the whole World Cup. I'd rather they just look to hit the deck with tight lines and put pressure on the batters.

I don't advocate for mukesh ,he has his limitations but i don't accept that he is trundler.Yeah he bowls around 130k but many greats have done that.

Even if that surface was bare, it could not have been a slow surface. You cannot have over 500 runs on a pitch in 40 overs without pace. It's impossible to hit through the line on a slow surface .

You can play shots on a slow pitch,as you get more time to play shots but need a good bat swing or brute power, but can't just time or punch the ball like on a quick pitch.
