On a serious note, he is a No.7 type player i.e someone who can hit and score fast + bowl a few overs.

We have a huge range of options in batting n bowling but lack of all rounders is messing up the balance (hardik isnt bowling fit so till then he isnt an All rounder)

So ill choose an Attacking option not in batting but in bowling

 

Those 2 ill select on matchups - 

 

• Against WI- ill Definately go for Ashwin n Deepak chahar coz they have lefties n they dont like swing and in death Bumran n Siraj will take care of them
• Against Aus n Eng- ill look to go for Varun. C (but need to know how much have morgan studied about him in KKR). Ill prefer bhuvi over Deepak against these 2 sides or Thakur to add batting
• Deepak Chahar definately against sides like SL, Bang, WI, PAk as they dont like swing bowling 
• Against NZ wud be the real headache, Williamson did play bumrah really well when we toured NZ last time

Against n.z this is what you pick. You pick bowlers who can bat well. To win in n.z you need balance.

Thakur at 8

Chahar yes chahar or bhuvi at 9

Siraj

Bumrah

 

For tests and odi this team works. In tests maybe take out chahar for you know who? Vijay shankar. Yes vijay. His record is quite good in first class. Surprise!! He can bowl a bit in seaming tracks. You need players like these to excel in n.z.

Dont tell me , i hve been one of his biggest advocate . I always say technically he is one of the most sound batsman currently in India. 

I hve seen him bat on NZ A tour and wow he was damn good

Then drop booms. I believe kiwi are his bogey team. Every great has one or 2 bogey teams. Steyn has a poor record in a couple of countries as well. 

 

Go with siraj shami and hell prasidh or some other talent.

KL, Rohit and Kohli top 3 doesn't give me any confidence, all 3 play slow to begin with and if they don't go on to make massive scores it puts the team at a major disadvantage.

True. Yea agreed. Very hard call on bumrah for kiwi game. Unfair even but sometimes it has to be done if we want to win

KL can be the underdog to open..  These next few months are gonna be crucial for him.  I think he will get to play in Eng tests as a middle order bat.  In IPl we have to see his approach.  

 

SKY has all but sealed his spot as a regular member in T20 XI.  Iyer ain't replacing him.  He is our X factor player this WT20.

 

Finger spin works well in UAE so Jaddu/Sundar can be handy as well.  Rahul Chahar has to play in T20I in SL as he is our best leggie right now I think.
