There's plenty to criticise about GMO crops- both from scientific and societal angles but she completely flubs it like Paksitani slip fielders of the 90s. I am not hearing about them anymore and I suspect they have been repackaged as global climate change Burning Coal releases humongous amounts of SO2 into the atmosphere. And when these toxic gases mix with water in the form of rain it results in acid rains forming Sulphuric acid which affects the rivers, forests and ecosystems associated with it. Starting from the 1970s they started using reactants while burning coal in the smokestacks which collects these gases from getting emitted into the atmosphere. Today all the coal plants use these methods and that's why we don't hear about acid rains anymore. BacktoCricaddict
BacktoCricaddict
https://www.thefp.com/p/turbulence-singapore-airlines-climate-change Quote the incidence of injuries on airplanes caused by air turbulence has actually come down over the years, despite the fact that air travel has increased exponentially over the last half-century. If climate change does make the skies bumpier, he added, any increased risk will likely be mitigated by improvements in technology—for instance, increasingly sophisticated weather prediction software (which he expects will get even better with AI). “I recognize that climate change is real, of course. I can look at the data just like everybody else,” he told The Free Press. But he isn’t on board with the doom and gloom scenario that dominates the media. It’s disturbing that journalists jumped to conclusions about this incident. People are afraid of both climate change and flying—but instead of playing on those fears, the media should be giving us the facts. People have tuned out climate activists and activist-scientists because they are so quick to pull the trigger and attribute every weather event to climate change even if it is just a hypothetical possibility. Flood somewhere? Climate change. Hurricane? Climate change. Tornado? Climate change. Now, turbulence? Climate change. For example, IPCC data show no evidence of increased hurricane activity in N. America due to increased global temperatures, activists and news channels continue to parrot this false narrative. Again, just because global temperatures have increased due to anthropogenic climate change (this is quite well-proven), it does not mean that every weather event is due to this. Reasonable hypothesis perhaps, but the evidence is anecdotal, at best. Now, the Singapore airline turbulence that sadly resulted in one person passing away is being attributed to climate change. It is an easy correlation to make. Post-op ergo propter hoc (after this, therefore because of this) fallacy. Instead, we must look at accumulated data. Do the timeline graphs that encompass data from before and after fossil-fuel use show consistent increases in number and/or intensity of turbulence? The answer is no, they don't. But instead of looking at data, people fall for little anecdotes and correlations. Edited May 25 by BacktoCricaddict Vijy
SinNombre
Climate activists can be morons and climate change can be real at the same time. This should all be data based over long periods. Acid rain and ozone layer depletion were real issues that were resolved by global governmental action. Let's not become paranoid and start denying real science just because modern society has a lot of virtue signaling morons.
