Problem with our team is there are too many individuals. No team work. No cohesion. Everyone trying to play for themselves.

High time India starts building a versatile team.  A team that has attack for all conditions. Gauti started that trend in the IPL if am right.  A team with a lot of depth both in bowling and batting department.  This 5 bowlers 1 keeper 5 batsmen is an ancient strategy. In the 80s we had Binny, Madanlal, Kapil Dev, Shastri, Kirti Azad, Mohinder All could bat and bowl.  In the 90s we had Ajay jadeja,  tendulkar, Ganguly  could bat and bowl.  Kumble no slouch with bat.  In 2000s we had Sehwag/Raina/Yuvi/Tendulkar could bowl and bat.  What do we have now. Crap. Very regressive unit who puts themselves in a position where they ought to have near perfect game in every single match.

9 players that can bat.

 

Ideally i would want 3 spinners/3 pacers. But we will be a genuine batsman light.  Joe Root bowls spin. If one of our opener can do that we can pick a leggie. Moeen/Rashid is a great combo. We need something like them.
