I think...they will be Pune XI Bhopal XI Gwalior XI Srinagar XI & Secunderabad XI this will make 12 teams altogether with the existing ones...
Why should there be a Secunderabad XI when there's a Hyd. XI ? Its not like we differentiate a lot between the twin cities anyways. But the others seem right.

i think the most feasible cities are these: Visakapatnam Cochin Goa Guwahati Ahmedabad -I like these venues as hosts since flights, hotels are adequately available in these cities. With these cities it would spread the IPL all over india. Cities like Srinagar Bhopal and Indore wouldnt for sure be hosts because they are not metropolitan enough. Secunderabad would be a waste as swami put it.

In that case, it should be Goa XI ( badly needed to promote cricket in this soccer city )

Some city from Guj. I think two teams would be added to make it even. Ahemadabad surely. Maybe even Pakistani/Sri Lankan/Bangladeshi teams.
no not a good idea im sure a lot of players in the IPL would be against playing in Pakistan, like australia. I wouldnt put the IPL into the hands of Pakistan or even Bangladesh.

60 games in a space of 1.5 months is insane. Soon, this format will start to stink up the joints. Overdosage of T20 games in such a short span of time, is likely to have the effect the World cup'07 had on people. Already am beginning to feel the drag. I cant wait for this money milking marathon to get over, so some real cricket can start. Increasing the no. of teams, therefore will only stiffen this challenge of reducing the overall no. of games & keeping the interest levels up. I can see IPL growing up to 12 teams, divided in to pools of six each. But the tournament has to finish within a month with atmost 30-35 games. Thats the best way, IPL can fit within the international calendar of all teams (with minimal interference), as well as keep the interest levels of fans high enough to be successful.

Nah they can spread out the games (rather than have them all in 1.5 months) over more 2.5 months. I dunno about you, but I got tired of the repeated Ind-Pak matchups that occur yearly. In the 90's they were a lot more fun..

Ahmedabad surely. My Gujju roomies are rudderless now :D
Vadodara (Baroda) has produced more quality international cricketers than A'bad. How about a Vadodara (or Baroda) XI ? If they can have Mohali (instead of Chandigarh), they can have Baroda as well. Besides Baroda has always fielded a team in Ranji and we have our own cricket association. Reliance Industries can polish IPCL sports complex a little bit (now that it is called Reliance Stadium). If history is of cricket in Baroda is of any importance, we have oldest cricket ground in Asia (Moti Bagh). But I feel, this is about money and Baroda might loose out to A'bad on that. But in all honesty, I feel Baroda XI makes sense. Irfan Pathan can be our icon player (if he is still firing all cylinders 3 years from now).
