I'm not sure what kind of fiscal policy our ICF Czars subscribe to, but I would like to bring to our government's attention the rampant rate off inflation that we are being subjected to. Look, I know you guys can just print money, but we must have some sort of discretionary policies. Gone are the days when a 'Spot the ball' contest worth $2500 would be considered serious incentive to take a good half-hour off work to triangulate the locations of adulterated pixels. Today, $2500 leaves people unimpressed -- why, it doesn't buy us 1 pau of bhindi at the ICF Mandi. Homeless ICFers who would ask for spare quarters now refuse bills under $100. We have our first ICF Billionaire, and yet there are others with only a couple of thousand to their names. I understand that I don't have the monetary drive that some of us have here, but I am finding it hard to make a n honest living as an occasional drifter/lurker. Sure, I don't contribute as much to society as some of our more prolific members, but I play my part in increasing the hit count, I expect something back. What about when I retire, who's going to take care of me? Does ICF propose some social security system, some benefit threads for retired members, subsidies on Super Selector based on seniority? If nothing is done soon, I'm going to have to resort to a life of crime and social degeneracy. Don't be surprised if you get mugged on your way from the IPL forum to chit-chat. Pretty soon, you won't want to leave threads at night, will have to take off all your bling before you post, hire security -- is that the kind of world we want to live in? I'm going to have to write a manifesto or something.

:hysterical: ICF for a handful of us, who were brave enough to venture out into the open and treacherous seas and who first inhabited this vast and bountiful place, is the promised land. The good people who first sailed on SS Begusarai endured an oppressive regime in their erstwhile homeland. However oppressive and terrible the barbaric tyrant's and his loyal army of watchmen's efforts to terminate the intelligensia were, the good people led by the musketeers defeated the watchmen regiment and finally set sail leaving the barbaric analfdom for good. A few of us that first sailed on our maiden voyage here were diagnosed with a rare and malignant strain of Cancer. The island's first physician Dr. Dhondy was credited with the discovery of this vicious disease which came to be known as B D Cancer :-D. Dr.Dhondy was assisted by his mentor and now retired Dr.Observer. There was no hope and those inflicted had a mere weeks to live. But within a few days of coming to this land, mysteriously and magically, the virus started to recede and those afflicted recovered back to full health. Thanks to the work of the two doctors, the virus was quarantined in analfdom. For the first few, ICF is the land of hope and dreams. Being the selfess bunch we were, we sent a few of our bravest to roam other worlds and inform like minded people of this magical place. Having recently become an inductee into the 480K club, I am now beginning to realize the tremendous responsibility that the wealthy bear. it's all very well for you lower-income bracket types to pipe up about social inequity blahblah etc. but at bottom, you have to look at yourself in the mirror (borrow one, if you can't afford your own) and ask yourself why you occupy your particular social rung. Once you get past the bullshit excuses about corruption, old-boys networks and the like, you will be left with your own inadequacy as the only possible explanation for this stratification. The rich (well, 400K club and above) are so because they deserve it. they are the engines of creation that keep this forum well-oiled and functioning. Who do you think installs the park benches you sleep on, and where do you think the day-old bread for your soup kitchens comes from? That's right, us! How about a little gratitude for a change, instead of the usual whining about inequity? And if you've ever spoken with Greg Mankiw (and you haven't, because you didn't get into Harvard, did you?) about trickle-down economics, you would realize that the only reason your life is as good as it is right now is because the money that we rich people spent on their yachts during the Reagan administration is just getting to you. Just imagine how good you'll have it 20 years from now, when all that google-money trickles its way down to your grimey, undeserving hands... So quit with all this revolution talk. With so many millionaires, a few billionaires, and ICF currency becoming like Zimbabwe's, it seems there is no good, old, honest way to earn money anymore. Betting irregularities started it all and now we are well and truly a banana republic. A hard worked out, well thought out original post gives you around $ICF 50, an article a bit more than that with some royalty when people thank you for it out of pity, and a blog doesn't even fetch you those thanks. And we have people gambling away millions on the lottery of IPL, fixing matches, and becoming multi millionaires. We have skinflints like Shane who has hundreds of millions of dollars and heckles poor souls for a few hundred thousand. We have greedy souls like P_K who want to double up their money even if it means betting on losers like King's XI Punjab. Newcomers like Karteek get sucked into this allure and try to earn millions from evil competitions like the Superselector risking their lives while talking on the phone while driving and goading their wives to make last minute substitutions. This is a demand for the return of manufacturing industry to this Banana Republic of ICF where even banned users get their wealth distributed through gambling. I don't want a financial market crash - we need to recognize the fruits of labor and up the salaries, wages, and benefits for the good old fashioned methods which add value to the economy.
