Is bumrah wildly overrated in odi? Shami our best odi bowler?

India's biggest problem has always been death overs. That is where Bumrah's stock has fallen somewhat. If he is back to his best there, for that alone he can play. Such a key bowler in death overs. Infact it forces the opposition to take more risks given that Bumrah's overs will be coming in the end. But he is not the same. Even in the IPL he looked indifferent.

Agreed he is still a good bowler. Top 5 in the world. But he is not the best anymore. Shami is top 3. Bumrah top 5/6 at this stage in odi.

Hazlewood and boult have moved to 1 and 2. Archer is overrated too.

Cummins is nothing special in odi.

Rabada is class. On par with shami.

Kulcha were manhandled just like everyone on those uber flat pitches in England. They paid the price. It is not wise to totally abandon a china man bowler like Kuldeep who still has incredible numbers. Most of his wickets were not like batsmen trying to go after him and getting out. He comprehensively beat them in flight. Even top players. Which spinner has not gone for runs.

Do you feel he can be a matchwinner for us in India 2023 WC? Kuldeep ? Go with Kuls and axar.

Our whole ODI bowling attack is overrated as hell post the Kuldeep-Chahal period from. 2019. It all started with that one game in Mumbai (?) , where Hetmyer mauled them on a dewy belter. Ashton Turner aggravated it a few months later in Mohali and Roy-Bairstow applied finishing touches in the WC.

It's a torture to watch us bowl in ODIs these days. Time for some fresh faces... maybe Bishnoi or Siraj or Tyagi... Or anyone who's not the usual shami/Boobi/Jadeja tripe.

Shami has been good whenever he got the chance.

Siraj isn't a ODI bowler and he will not have a great career in that format. India have to find other bowlers for ODI's. May be give longer run to someone like Prasidh Krishna. The biggest mistake India did was to debut Siraj in white ball instead if in Tests. His lengths are more suited for Test cricket and yeah he can be successful in ODIs as well on pitches overseas where there is some swing/bounce.

Bumrah post his injury has been struggling in ODIs and Shami has probably been our best bowler in that format. But again this year has been the year of SN Thakur. He averages 22 in Tests and 22 in ODIs.

yes, prasidh should play more matches. and siraj has improved in shorter formats since his T20Is long ago. moreover, he is a genuine wkt taking option unlike our trundlers like chahar and bhuvi.
