Generational gap between Cricketers getting exposed?

With the whole Ganguly, Kumble vs Kohli and now Langer and his mates vs Cummins.

Retired players usually have more fan support because of nostalgia and they own all the administration and media jobs. Are they unnecessarily making the job harder on current players to stay relevant?

Player power (backed by media and PR)  at display. Cricket Australia has made the same mistake that BCCI did when not siding with Kumble. They will regret this massive error of judgment very soon.

These modern day superstar captains only want to be surrounded by people they are comfortable with. In this case Cummins is looking to get Trevor Bayliss in.

Why would he even?! Bayliss destroyed English test team and Aussies want him and for what? To add to the 5 existing titles? Madness…

Is this the first time cricket teams are being coached by players belonging to the past era? Did we ever have such generational misunderstanding before?

The workplace  culture and expectations have changed a lot in recent times

Apparently Bayliss is more easy going compared to Langer or the earlier coach Lehman and gives the captain a lot of space.

Basically isn't so much into pushing players to train and prepare hard,. They might as well get Shastri as a cheerleading coach

The world has changed a lot in the last 10, or 20, years I've seen arguably more change than the 100 years before that!
