@bharathhbrought it up in the other thread.  The following silly, unnecessary rant would further derail that thread from TKF discussions, hence the separate thread.

 

TANHAJI:

 

The "h".  Why the "h"?  

 

Tyachaa naav aahe  तानाजी मालूसरे.  Anywhere you see "Ha"  ? 

 

Taa Naa Ji. 

 

Irritates me every time I see the "h" in Tanhaji ... sounds like the name of a guy who is always meant to be alone.

Never understood the point of doing this for non-English names. Wouldn't doing what he did really change his name?

Probably.  Like Srikkanth.  Akshayee.  Devgn etc.  At least they could've put the "h" after the "T"

Th =

Thh = थ

 

So, Thanaji = तानाजी

Tanhaji = ??

 

Oh well ... to each their own.
