Why was NKP Salve Challenger Trophy discontinued?

Idea was to play the best 36 players in the country to play the tournament. All the big guns took part in 2000s. That is where the first time i saw Rohit sharma, Dinesh Karthik .  Right now Vijay Hazare, Deodhar

 

Our dudeja played way back in 2006. 16 years gone by same bits and pieces role. Gauti's team beats Dravid's team.

Is Deodhar Trophy still there?

most such domestic tourneys have been cancelled. partly covid19, partly IPL, partly other stuff

Challenger Trophy was discontinued in 2015/16. I think Deodhar trophy was not played due to COVID.

They can do what WI did with the 6ixty. Arrange a four or five match series before IPL. Promote it like it is a part of IPL. This way we can make sure the broadcaster will have to air it. Presence of few star players itself will give it the required hype. @vvvslaxman

That tourney would make the job a lot easier for selectors but our senior pros won't like it lol
