amits Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 gambhir should be made the icon player & captain for delhi in place of sehwag. gambhir is the best 20/20 batsman in india & is better in captaincy than sehwag. sehwag has struggled in captaincy & looks more suited to tests than 20/20

Cricketics Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Sehwag is a fine captain.. i would back him over Dhoni for test after kumble too. giving over to shoaib malik and stuff in the end, doesn't make him a poor captain. he brought mcgrath and co in that game at right time, had we not got Mcgrath early, we might have lost the game early also... Sehwag for captaincy.. big time..

He could be like Shane Warne - the best captain India may never have and yes, DD will make the semis - all they have to do is beat both KKR and MI. The first is easy, the second is now doable now that MI don't have super bravo

amits Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 gambhir was the captain of india in the emerging nations cup in 2003. also, gambhir captained delhi to a ranji trophy win this year in 2008. gambhir, seems to be captaincy material & will make a better captain than sehwag. also, gambhir should be the icon player for delhi next season in place of sehwag
Temujin Khaghan Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 gambhir shouldn't be the captain now. Let him play the game at the highest level for the next 2-3 years, just concentrating on batting and fielding and improve his skills.
