since it's one WC, the sample sizes are too low. however, look at the bottom 3 bats. pathetic. and likewise for the bottom 3 bowlers (even shami was quite poor).

This is only for this WC

Even in last WC, many of these guys failed against NZ & Pak, while stats padding against SCO & NAM

that's why they play all the bilaterals. to stat pad their way to glory. especially fatman (known as hitman)

Bilaterals, where most Indian players do well in, are the only savior for these has beens ... Even in IPL:

Conclusion:-

With bat - Kohli, SKY and Pandya

With bowl - Arshdeep and Pandya

Against England, Bhuvi, Ashwin and Shami all got their numbers smashed.

I wouldn't count Kohli as his knock (50 off 40) in SF, where performances carry more weightage, worked against India ... Though would give him credit for the knock against Pak!

Kohli's knock in SF was average, probably he felt that he will accelerate in later part like he did vs Pakistan but failed to do it and got out.

If I give 2x the weightage to performance in a KO:

Batting

Sir Don

  • Pak +
  • SA -
  • ENG (SF) 2+
  • Overall 2+

SKY

  • Pak -
  • SA +
  • ENG (SF) 0
  • Overall 0

Kohli

  • Pak +
  • SA -
  • ENG (SF) 2-
  • Overall 2-

Rohit, KL, etc.

  • Overall 4-

So, both Kohli and Pandya(who stat padded) gets a + for Pakistan game but for England game, you gave Kohli a -2 because he stat padded. :phehe:

He can't "waste" 40 balls in SF ... Below average knock

There is no guarantee that a player will accelerate after playing 40 balls ... and in the SF, he had the opportunity to stamp his authority considering the flat pitch and his form ... if you can accelerate later, good, but otherwise a big big minus when you fail

In the end, we can say, India paid the price for continuing with Kohli (much like in 2021)

I wouldn't count an inning played at 31/4 as stats padding and that too while chasing  ... The ability to fight it out at that point (for both Sir Don & Kohli) earns a plus (like SKY did against SA for his fighting knock even though Ind lost the game)

In the SF, Ind was batting first and had wickets in hand on a good batting pitch where Kohli CHOKED

Pandya almost cost the game against Pakistan swishing in teh air. One crucial decision of Kohli not taking the 2 in the 19th over was the reason why we won the match. If pandya had faced 19th over 5th and 6th ball match would have been gone for all intents and purposes.

Let's discuss about the bowling attack now :-

Ashwin AVG 93(1 wicket in 3 games)

Bhuvi AVG 68( 1 wicket in 3 games , didn't even bowled full quota)

Dono ne milkar poora tournament haga hai

Btw where is @Ankit_Sharma these days? He was hell bent backing KL Rahul, Bhuvi and Ashwin lol. Now look at the stats, these two have been the worst of the five main bowlers India had selected by far lol and Rahul was the worst batsman.

This tells us that analysis done by him should be taken with a pinch of salt. Next time Shreyas Iyer jab short ball khele toh uski video pe thread alag se bana liyo..but yaha analysis inka poora flop ho jaata hai..:phew:

Probably vacationing on a beach with the posters of KL, Bhuvi, Ashwin, Rohit, etc., and a picture of the World Cup.

On the 1,927,827th simulation, Ind would have won the cup on his cellphone!

He was there some days ago. Claiming that Ashwin won India the match vs Pakistan with bat :hysterical:

he was also backing Brat to the hilt, who did well albeit in a very tuk-tuk way. this tuk-tuking from top 3 will continue to cost us

There were guys delusional enough to believe that Nawaz bowled a no ball because of Ashwin. As if the ball automatically changed its path when Ashwin moved in

Many of these guys are now pretending to be against these players!

ball was repelled by ashwin. it didn't want to move toward a spin-track bully, so it moved away from him? this might be the explanation that is given by some
