It's interesting you say that you don't see devotion coming out of a man's voice. I don't think so. Evidence is aplenty in Jagjit Singh, Yesudas, Sonu Nigam and M Rafi. How about Kailash Kher?

Haven't heard Kher, but all the others are very good singers, mainly specialising in other areas. If I had to pick a male voice for such songs, I'd choose Bhimsen Joshi. Matchless.

Gambo, for some reason, I can't appreciate devotional songs sung by men. Perhaps it boils down to my perception of most men as scumbags, who have their brains in their gonads, and are primarily directed from that part of their anatomy, going through life cheating their wives, ogling at women old enough to be their daughters, and generally spending half their existence jacking off. Are there any devotional songs from this particular genre sung by women? You know the one I love, written by Iqbal, sung by children? Have you heard anything similar?
