Aussies are most likely taking WTC as a practice match for the bigger prize.

Their coaches players fans are all talking about Ashes.

They probably will sleepwalk to a WTC title knowing how Brittle  India is right now thanks to oldies

It will be hilarious if they lose. Just like they have lost the last 4 BG trophies.

That would be a monumental upset right there...  Everything has to click for India to win.  The last 2 Indian  BGT teams that toured Australia were much superior than this WTC one - form,  fitness,  age & skill wise.

Not entirely true.

Gill and Siraj are much better and more mature now. Jadeja's batting has improved. Also Jadeja, Ashwin and Shami haven't lost their bowling form yet and have gained experience.

Rohit, Thakur and Umesh have been constant. The new Rahane 2.0 can't be worse than his 2018-21 self.

Only guys who are worse than before are Pujara and Kohli.

Kohli has regained a bit of form. Although far away from his prime but still better than what he was on his last Aus tour.

Biggest worry offcourse is the absence of Pant and Bumrah. Had they been fit the contest would have been even.

Gill is still finding his feet at test level without a break out season yet.  He will find it eventually but hasn't yet.  Further England will be biggest test for him thanks to his backfoot styled play & staying leg side of the  ball.

Rohit struggling across formats...  There were numerous signs in IPL that his reflexes are almost on the tata bye bye mode.

Kohli is in definite decline we all know.

Hahane 2.0 is untested af...  He surprisingly hasn't lost reflexes or such or fitness but we have seen false dawns.

Gujara is gujara

Shami in England has always been meh.

Umesh is washed up...  Can't bowl 140k+ anymore barring few here & there.  Bite is gone too.

Siraj massive upgrade obviously.

Your glass is half empty lol.

Anyways Aus are favourites, mostly due to injuries in our camp. Absence of Pant, Bumrah and even Iyer are huge holes which can't be filled.

Though I generally agree, but he is one bowler who can surprise us, he has done well in England in the past.

I just hope Umesh pick himself up for the last hurrah. Its very likely his last English tour as he might retire by this year end (36 is prime age to retire even for a superfit pacer like him).

I just hope he produces a few jaffas outta nowhere...  Story of his career.  But damn he has been so mediocre outside Asia which is indeed weird af.

Undercutter may pip him for final spot too as variety option.

I have no hopes with current Umesh, they should have groomed someone like Tyagi(taking his injury into account),now they can look upto Harshit as well

Siraj and Shami won't be enough in England against this Aus

Need huge contribution from Umesh and the spinners

Our bowling combined with feeble batting makes this outfit super weak overseas

There is no point carrying on Umesh,he should have been phased out with future in mind

They play him at home thereby killing hopes of home debut for any youngster, which is easy than getting straightaway to play in SENA,

That's a reservation by all of us....Tyagi, Harshit, Prasidh, Kaverappa, Mayank Yadav...so many names could have been groomed. But all selectors gave us is Unadkat..:wp100:

I don't know how to say this, but a new pacer isn't going to debut at home.

At max we play 2 Pacers + 3 spinners...Shami, Siraj, Bumrah are first choices followed by Umesh.

Siraj got his chance in Australia, we may need to wait for some other SENA tour with injuries to premier pacers, then only someone will get forced debut.

Yeah, courtesy of his all-round abilities. Coz our batters are mediocre against swing and hence they will try to plug in the batting till 9.

Umesh is a solid fielder though, best amongst pacers.

Why do you want a pace bowler to bowl 140+ in England, that's like an idiotic move.
You don't need extra pace here, Umesh has gained control at the expense of speed and that's exactly what we need in England.
How many 140+ consistent pacers have done well in England? Lee, Starc, Johnson, Akhtar
Even the likes of Cummins have lost a lot of steam, this is not the subcontinent, you don't need that extra zip here

In Oval you need pace to make a difference...  Remember Boom spell last time & Umesh wiping out the Tail with pace & that Root indipper... Umesh strength has always been pace & his skiddiness...  He has lost both.

He was never a genuine swing bowler.  Undercutter could be a better option if they are looking for a swing bowler.

Ah he'll no. Not iyer.

Man if india picks jaiswal sarfraz, tilak etc india would be favourites. Need to ad in rana too.

Bumrsh and Pant are huge losses though.

Yea i don't understand umesh. He is like Marshall with the sg ball but useless with kookaburra. He has done pretty well with the English cherry in the few times he has played.

No dude. Just no. No need for more than one spinner.

Go with 4 pronged pace.
