Sadly this is where we lose in winnable games. In SA and same in England last test and also wtc final. Tail not being able to bat cost us. Mahraj and even rabada added runs. Also the tall fellow. But more importantly we need batsmen to step up which hasn't happened. Age decline and losing reflex dint help. Go only with 2 striker bowlers like prasidh and bumrah or harshit etc. Have maybe siraj at 9. But number 8 has to be a good support bowler with 100% batting ability. We just can't go to sena without an all rounder who can't bat and bowl. Even the guy who plays for TN vijay shankar would be handy. He can bat and bowl. He can bowl 10 overs to 15 overs. He can bat. In sena you need this balance.

Nha I don't see it hey. Think he will fail big time in India and aus. For a pom your success is measured by performance against aus then india and then maybe SA. SA I am sure he will do well but not in India and aus

Not England. He played one good test in India in 2021. He then failed in 3 tests back to back. He has failed in aus for a long time. He is a bit overrated imo. Better than kohli and fraud Kane. Most recently at Mirpur Ashwin/Iyer partnership saved our ass. Then Axar's batting in recent series saved us. Given how much we rely on tail to save us we need better ones. Main reason is top order failure. But they don't seem to be going away.

In India it is a bit of lottery against Ashwin/Jadeja/Axar. In Australia he has to make his mark. But he is good enough to do. Lot of no name players have made some runs ther .

No they are not, Thakur is just fine at number 8 till they find a better replacement when India plays in SENA.Results don't matter on his place in the team. . Top order has to be revamped completely but as we have seen Gill, it is not that easy to perform in SENA.Let us see what Jaiswal can do, hope he gets long run in the team.

Yes in other words he is not good enough. He is a tier a ove kohli and Kane but a tier or 2 below smith. Great player but he needs to step up big time away in India and aus. In 2016 he only got runs on flat wickets. And they lost 4 0.
