For schedule and squad - Link

This one gives the vibes of a blockbuster series as Australia is now the test champion and England has settled down with Bazball.

Points of interest:

  • Ben Stokes' captaincy
  • Anderson (could be his final Ashes) v Australia
  • Lyon v England (esp. considering how Indian spinners tend to struggle in England)
  • Aus pacers v England (a challenge for the Aus pacers if England batsmen are firing all cylinders)
  • Could be the last Ashes in Eng for Smith, Warner, etc. so would be exciting to see how they go in the series as well

Best of luck to both teams!

Poll added, which closes on 07/07!

Hazlewood is expected to be available for selection. Would Aus go with the same 11 or pick him over Boland or Starc or someone else? :hmmmm:

Boland over Starc.

Yeah, Boland should play based on the form he has shown.

Starc v Hazlewood depending on who is shaping up well.

should be hazel unless he has fitness issues. Hazel offers: (a) greater consistency and control: (b) ideal English line and length, whereas Starc offers: (a) good looks, (b) pace, (c) clean up of tail.

Its a long series so Aussies have options to rotate the pacers. It will be a great contest.

neser will also be a handful in these conditions

2001 under Steve Waugh

that Eng team was really bad, and Waugh's Ozzies were among the greatest cricket teams ever. Even so, I seem to recall butcher or someone playing well in 1 test

massive batting depth since no. 9 and no. 10 can also bat a bit. 3 bowlers + 2 ARs + 1 part-timer + 1 part-part-timer (brook)
